It is God, Not Me!

If God hadn’t been for us all together now, Israel, sing out! — If God hadn’t been for us when everyone went against us, we would have been swallowed alive by their violent anger, swept away by the flood of rage, drowned in the torrent; We would have lost our lives in the wild, raging water. Oh, blessed be God! He didn’t go off and leave us. He didn’t abandon us defenceless, helpless as a rabbit in a pack of snarling dogs…God’s strong name is our help, the same God who made heaven and earth. – Psalms 124: 1-8 MSG

As we have successfully crossed over into a brand-New Year, it’s good to pause and take a few moments to reflect on the past 12 months.

The year 2022 meant different things to different people, a mixed bag for many. Perhaps you had many questions with not many answers. The fact that you are reading this blog today is testimony that you made it through the year 2022.

It’s a testimony that you are still in the perfect will and plan of God for 2023. Hope is still very much alive! “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)

Oh, blessed be God! All that I am, all that I have and all that I do is by His grace. I’ve nothing of my own but He fills my soul. Yes, it is God not me!

Oh, blessed be God! In my despair, when I’m confused, and in all my fears, He saw me through. I couldn’t have lived through the year on my own. Yes, it is God not me!

Oh, blessed be God! When I was sick, when my life was slowly ebbing away, He reached out to save and heal me. When I was unfaithful, He remained faithful. Yes, it is God not me!

It is pertinent for us to understand that we are still standing today simply because of the grace and mercy of God. He made a way where there seemed to have been no way.

Oh, blessed be God! He didn’t go off and leave us. He didn’t abandon us defenceless, helpless as a rabbit in a pack of snarling dogs. So, give God all the glory because:

He’s the one who protects us. He’s the one who provides all our needs. He’s the one who delivers us. He’s the one who saves us. He’s the one who forgives our sins. He’s the one who helps us. He’s the one who fights our seen and unseen battles. He’s the one who gives us victory. He’s the one who enables us to live a righteous and holy life.

On behalf of Hills and Valleys, we wish you all a very happy, fruitful and victorious 2023!

Stay blessed,

LaraLex
