However, the Most High doesn’t live in temples made by human hands. As the prophet says, ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that?’ asks the Lord. ‘Could you build me such a resting place? Didn’t my hands make both heaven and earth?’ Acts 7:48-50 (NLT)

Do you go to church to be close to God? Do you go for walks in the woods or along the seafront or to some other favourite locations just to be close to God?
While it is good to sometimes do these things to reflect or meditate on God’s word, we should however know that God is everywhere. We just need to be more aware of His presence because God can grab our attention anywhere and at any time.
Let us not so much localise or box God by thinking there is a particular place in our homes. Or a particular favourite spot or place that we can hear or be close to God. Instead, let us become more aware of God’s presence wherever we are.
In my early days as a Christian, I often hear people say and some still say today that we must put on our best clothes and best behaviour to church on Sunday. Because we are going to meet with God, the King of kings; really? What about other days of the week?
God is everywhere and He wants us to be more aware of His presence wherever we are. As we grow to be more aware of God’s presence and live in His presence daily, the less likely we will focus on ourselves or misinterpret God’s purposes. The less likely will we miss the mark or get things wrong.
The Psalmist summarised it perfectly:
“I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night— but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.” Psalms 139:7-12 (NLT)
Stay blessed,

He is everywhere; and more so in us by His Spirit and with us. Hallelujah!
