This is from the Lord and is His doing; It is marvelous in our eyesâPsalms 118:23 AMP

When Hills and Valleys marked its first anniversary, we quoted todayâs verse. As we approached the fifth anniversary and reflected on the Bible verse to quote, we couldnât find any other verse that summed up what God has been doing more than this: âThis is from the Lord and is His doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.â
We canât believe itâs been five years! We are humbled that God has chosen to use us in this way. He has helped us through difficult times, such as sickness, tiredness, and writerâs block. Sometimes, it comes to Saturday mornings and we ask each other, âDo you have something for tomorrow?â and we both say âNoâ. Then God shows up and He does have something for us to share. So, we give God all the glory because no matter what we are going through, Heâs there with us and always shows up â Praise God!
We want to use this opportunity to thank our partners, readers, subscribers, families and friends. The Lord has used you all to spur us on in many ways. Sometimes, just when we are wondering if Hills and Valleys is having any impact, someone comments about how they have been touched and blessed by the message. Or a family member, a member of the Church family or friend mentions how they have been encouraged and that in turn encourages us too. So, we are encouraged by every one of you and we say a very big Thank You!
Now, we look forward in faith to what God has in store for the next five years. Our prayer is that God will continue to show and reveal to us great and mighty things that we donât yet know about Him, His word, the world that we live in and about ourselves.
Stay blessed,

LaralexâŚyou two always have timely words to shareâŚ..thank you for your faithfulness!! I am sure you donât realize how a certain phrase that you used in todayâs post sounds to some folksâŚ.It is popular to say âGod showed upâ but it implies that God wasnât present and that He just decided to âdrop byâ. It has a ring of disrespect like He was invited to the party and decided to âshow upâ. Someone suggested that the phrase got popularized from a scene in âForrest Gumpâ. This short article expresses what I am trying to sayâŚâŚWhen God showed up â What Then Why Now

Dear Linda, I have always valued your comments and corrections. This is what we at Hills and Valleys desire because we do not claim our articles are perfect. We used the phrase “God showed up” innocently to prove that God didn’t go anywhere but was always there with us. I read the short article and understand the author’s point of view.
We will be careful going forward not to use such a phrase to describe our relationship with our Heavenly Father.
By the way, I haven’t seen the film Forrest Gump but will do when I can.
Once again, thank you for challenging us to do better. We do honestly appreciate it.
