Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…”— Revelation 12:10-11 NKJV
The strength and victory of the Church is never about performance, the expression of our gifts and certainly not about denomination or church affiliation. The strength and victory of the Church against the wiles of the devil, is in having our Lord Jesus Christ as an Advocate and Captain of our salvation.
Anyone who’s had the opportunity or benefit of retrospection would see situations they wished they had handled differently. The situation may have resulted in deep regret, disappointment, shame, guilt, or something even worse.
It’s so easy to live in regret and go through life looking in your rear-view mirror. The enemy relishes situations where he can constantly remind you of everything you’ve ever done wrong.
We need to remember that Satan despises and hates God and believers. Most especially, Satan hates the presence of God, yet he often shows up there to accuse us. I sometimes wonder why God accommodates and grants him audience!
As children of God, let us be careful that we give the devil no cause or reason to accuse us before God. When we sin, (and we will sin), let us humble ourselves, go before the Lord, and confess our wrongdoing. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 (NKJV) “…And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.” 1 John 2:1-2 (NKJV)
We have an adversary who hates us and will seize every opportunity to bring an accusation against us. But thanks be to God, we have an Advocate in Christ Jesus who intercedes and pleads our cause before God. “Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.” Romans 8:33-34 (NLT)
No accusation can stand against the redeemed whose sins have been forgiven through the sacrificial death of Christ. The blood of Jesus meets and covers every charge that Satan brings against us. We overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony—Hallelujah!
So, reject and turn off the accusing voices trying to deceive you into living with condemnation and regrets and rest in the grace and mercy of Christ Jesus.
Stay blessed,
