Despite the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, God still desires that man live in a world where there is no sin, violence, and unrighteousness.

The Psalmist said, “I know that you, God, are never pleased with lawlessness, and evil ones will never be invited into your house. Boasters collapse, unable to survive your scrutiny, for your hatred of evildoers is clear. You will make an end of all those who lie. How you hate their hypocrisy and despise all who love violence!” Psalms 5:4-6 (TPT)
God wants to bless our lives. The key to enjoying, remaining and abiding in His blessing, is to be a citizen of His Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven. This is achieved by placing your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.
God is for us, not against us. His laws and commandments may seem to interfere with our freedom of choice but it’s for our benefit that He gave us His laws.
Right after the fall in the garden of Eden, man has always wanted to live independent of God. You hear many people (especially the young ones) say “it’s my life” and they choose to live it the way they deem fit. In the words of the song “Find in me” the songwriter says:
They say it doesn’t matter what you do
For as long as it makes you feel so good
Live your life the way as it pleases you
These are the lies of the evil one. All he wants is to trap you into a false state of freedom and independence. Frankly speaking, it’s because of this so called “freedom and independence” that the world is in the mess that it is in today. I think we can confidently say that we have not done a good job of the freedom and independence we have!
The prophesies concerning the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ foretold centuries before it happened were no ordinary prophesies. The events preceding the second coming of Jesus Christ will equally be no ordinary events.
God has been using and still uses prophesies and world events to get people’s attention so that people can make a wise decision. A decision to call on the name of the Lord and to place their faith in Christ Jesus.
“But when the Day of God’s Judgment does come, it will be unannounced, like a thief. The sky will collapse with a thunderous bang, everything disintegrating in a raging inferno, earth and all its works exposed to the scrutiny of Judgment. Since everything here today might well be gone tomorrow, do you see how essential it is to live a holy life? Daily expect the Day of God, eager for its arrival…” 2 Peter 3:10-13 (MSG)
Who or what’s got your attention lately? Is it the pandemic, the situation in Afghanistan and the 20th anniversary of 9/11? Is it changes in marriage laws, a new relationship you’re in, your bank balance, a project you’re working on, an ailment or a problem you’re battling with? What about climate change which has seen recent floods and fires in different parts of the world especially in Europe, etc?
If God is using the events of our day to get people’s attention, what decision will you make concerning your life today?
You can turn your life over to the Messiah, Christ the King. Receive Him into your life as the one who takes away the sin of the world and then live in obedience to Him.
Stay blessed,
Alex
